Isaiah Chapter 2
Verse 10
Enter into the rock, and hide
in the dust, From the terror of the
Lord And the glory of His majesty.
19-22
They shall go into the holes of
the rocks, And into the caves of the
earth, From the terror of the Lord
And the glory of His majesty, When He
arises to shake the earth mightily. In that day a man will cast away his
idols of silver And his idols of gold, Which they made, each for himself to worship,
To the moles and bats, To go into the
clefts of the rocks, And into the crags of the rugged rocks, From the
terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily. Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath
is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?
Revelation 6:12-17
I looked when He opened the
sixth seal, and behold, there was a
great earthquake; and the sun became
black as sackcloth of hair, and the
moon became like blood. And the stars of heaven fell to the earth,
as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is
rolled up, and every mountain and island
was moved out of its place.
And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the
commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the
rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us
and hide us from the face of Him who
sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the
great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”
Isaiah says men will be hiding in
the rocks trying to avoid YHWH on the day of the Lord. John, discussing the Day
of the Lord and the sixth seal says the very same thing. There will be a great
earthquake, which scares men enough to run and hide. One other thing to take
note of is Isaiah directs his readers to avoid men like this. Men with idols
and who will run and hide on the day of YHWH.
That being said, we can take away
from this the idea men will know it is the day of the Lord, they will know YHWH
is coming, and they will all be afraid.
Chapter 3
Verse 9
The look on their countenance witnesses against them, And they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.
2 Peter 2:19
While they promise them liberty,
they themselves are slaves of corruption;
for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage.
Ephesians 4:17-19
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of
the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their
understanding darkened, being alienated
from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of
the blindness of their heart; who,
being past feeling, have given
themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
These first two verses show how
men openly praise their own sin. They are promising freedom and liberty, yet
they are slaves to their own sin because when a person taking part in sin, they
are taken into bondage. They are held captive by lifestyles of vulgarity,
impurity, and greed.
Verse 18
In that day the Lord will take
away the finery: The jingling anklets,
the scarves, and the crescents;
Revelation 17:4-5, 18
The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and
pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the
filthiness of her fornication. And on
her forehead a name was written:
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,
THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE
ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over
the kings of the earth.
Here we have a connection from
Isaiah to Revelation concerning Mystery Babylon and the wealth of this city. As
shown above, YHWH will remove all these fine things, including the “crescents”.
There is only one people group in the world who continually represent the
crescent moon. There will be much more connection between Mystery Babylon and
the people group who are represented by the crescent in later chapters of
Isaiah as well as other books being broken down.
Chapter 5
18-25
Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity, And sin as if with a cart rope; That say, “Let Him make speed and hasten His work, That we may see it;
And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, That we may
know it.” Woe to those who call evil
good, and good evil; Who put darkness
for light, and light for darkness;
Woe to those who are wise in their own
eyes, And prudent in their own sight! Woe to
men mighty at drinking wine, Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink, Who justify
the wicked for a bribe, And take
away justice from the righteous man! Therefore, as the fire devours the
stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, So their root will be as rottenness,
And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of
Israel. Therefore the anger of the
Lord is aroused against His people; He has stretched out His hand against
them And stricken them, And the hills
trembled. Their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For
all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.
2 Peter 3:4
and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For
since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the
beginning of creation.
Mark 12:38-40
As he taught them, he
said, “Watch out for the teachers of the Law, who like to walk around in their
long robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplace, who choose the reserved seats in the synagogues
and the best places at feasts. They take
advantage of widows and rob them of
their homes, and then make a show of saying long prayers. Their punishment
will be all the worse!”
2 Timothy 3: 1-5
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will
come: For men will be lovers of
themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of
good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of
God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people
turn away!
Here we can see some of the religious leaders and general
other men will be lovers of themselves and sin with vanity, as in putting
themselves above others. We read the scoffers rushing YHWH to judgement. Even
the leaders will call good evil and evil good. By becoming so vain, Timothy
explains exactly what we can expect to see in the last days. One of the things
standing out the most here is the fact Isaiah states outright, His people will
reject His Law and despise His word which is what ultimately causes the end to
come about.
Chapter 9
5 For every warrior’s
sandal from the noisy battle, And garments
rolled in blood, Will be used for
burning and fuel of fire.
18-21 For wickedness burns as the fire; It shall
devour the briers and thorns, And kindle in the thickets of the forest;
They shall mount up like rising smoke. Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts The land is burned up, And the people shall be as fuel for the fire;
No man shall spare his brother.
20 And he shall snatch
on the right hand And be hungry; He shall devour on the left hand And not be
satisfied; Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm.
21 Manasseh shall
devour Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; Together they shall be against
Judah. For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched
out still.
Matthew 10: 21-23
“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and
children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 And
you will be hated by all for My name’s
sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I
say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son
of Man comes.
Matthew 13:40
Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the
fire, so it will be at the end of this age.
John 15:6
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a
branch and is withered; and they gather
them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Revelation 8:7
The first angel
sounded: And hail and fire followed,
mingled with blood, and they were
thrown to the earth. And a third of the
trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
Isaiah chapter nine is utterly astonishing. It has
connections to multiple areas of the New Testament. Starting off, the prophet
discussed soldiers being dipped in blood and set ablaze. He then goes into the
idea that the thickets of the forests and the people of the earth will be used
for fuel of the fire. Jumping down to Matthew and John, we can see much of the
same terminology being used. These events are to take place during the same
time, at the end of the age or during the last days.
