Revelation Chapter Twelve Breakdown

1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a garland of twelve stars.

The sign in heaven of the pregnant women giving birth.

2 Then being with child, she cried out in labor and in pain to give birth.

The women gives birth. I have never really been good with astrology, so the studying of the movement of stars, which I believe this is, is not really a strong point for me. However, I do see this as a biblical storyline. Ill get back to it in just a moment.

3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.

Next John sees another sign, a red dragon consumed in fire. The dragon has seven heads and ten horns and each head has a crown.

4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.

It is the dragon who takes a third of the angels to the earth. The dragon had planned to eat/kill the child, who is Yeshua, as soon as He is born.

5 She bore a male Child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her Child was caught up to God and His throne.

Yeshua was born, and is destined to rule all the nations of the earth. Yeshua was taken up to YHWH and His throne.

6 Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

The woman represents the people of the twelve tribes of Israel. YHWH has a place prepared for them to be fed for three and a half years.

7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.

All the angels both good and bad fight in heaven and Satan and his angels no longer can stay.

9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan, as well as his followers are thrown down to earth. This will what we have just went over in the first few chapters of Revelation.

The Biblical story line goes like this. God pronounces hatred between the woman and her seed and Satan and his seed.

Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

After this we see fallen angels procreating with human women, potentially to “devour” the child before He is born.

Genesis 6:4
There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

We know Yeshua was born and then ascended to heaven.

Acts 1:9
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

It will not be until Satan is cast down to earth that salvation, the kingdom, and the power of Christ can come.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Believers will overcome Satan by the blood of Yeshua, the word of our testimonies, who do not love their lives.

12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

All those who live in the earth and in the seas after Satan is cast down, will deal with very troublesome times. Satan brings his wrath because he knows there is only a short time left for him to make a move against the people of YHWH.

13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

Once Satan realized he was thrown out of heaven (possibly not knowing immediately?), he goes after the twelve tribes of Israel, possibly specifically the Jews.

14 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.

It seems like maybe the Jews are flown to  a safe place in the desert on an airplane. They will be safe there for three and a half years.

15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.

Satan floods the desert in an attempt to kill the believers who are hidden from him. We know the two prophets had the power to control the elements, such as stopping the rain, it seems Satan has the power to control the elements as well.

16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

YHWH opens the earth, possibly in an earthquake to take in all the water from the flood.

17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

This really causes Satan to become upset, and then goes after the rest of the twelve tribes of Israel who keep the Torah law as well as the testimony of Yeshua.
